This is much larger than I anticipated. It is huge and doesn’t fit like the designer’s photograph. In particular, the sleeves are overly voluminous:I could fit a leg in each. I’m all for oversized, but based on how this turned out and in hindsight, I’d have made a medium and sized down the hook. I chose to make size L because I have a large bust, made it exactly to gauge and in some areas, sized down the hook as I saw what was developing; I even came in under the yardage required. I’d say it fits like an XXL. I’m disappointed that it didn’t turn out to my expectations which were based on the photo. So beware, size WAY down. Having said that, I like the garment itself and the pattern was fairly straightforward. I’ll live with it for now but will eventually have to unravel the whole thing one day and make an appropriate size.
Notes on Alterations made to this garment:
Sleeves: on final repeat of rounds 2-8, switch to J hook to prevent “belling” sleeves, then switch to H hook for sleeve trim. Since FP and BP dcs are shorter than normal DC rows, start row with ch2 instead of ch3. Finish with additional row of RSC.
Bottom Trim: use J hook.
Neck Opening: SS 22 on each side. (this still falls off the shoulder.)
Errata: Sleeves/Round 4 should read “sc in each DC around”, not in each stitch (skip the ch1s between Dcs). Also, Round 6 of sleeves should read “sc in each ch1 space” just as called for in body and front/back.
