I hunted for a toe-up, stockinette pattern with some kind of short-row-ish heel. I haven’t found a pattern that I 100% love, so I decided to combine things I like best from others.

I started with Knitty’s brilliant magic cast-on and plan to try the “forethought” heel from Sensational Knitted Socks (p. 71).
