Wow, what a quick knit. I found the pattern very easy to follow! I measured my chest at 38” (largest point) and was worried about the description stating “tight fitting sweater with little ease”, so I knit a size up for a 40” chest. I was mostly worried about the “muffin top” that might happen if the stomach area was too tight. However, I should have trusted Kate’s sizing and went for the 38”! The back puckers out a lot at the top on me, enough that I could remove an owl or two from the yolk and it would still be fine. So, if you purchase this pattern from Kate Davies, trust her sizing!
This pattern calls for a chunky weight yarn and a tight knit, which turned out great. I love that you can’t see through it, but it is very warm. So, I decided to go with short sleeves and I’m glad that I did so that I can wear it indoors.
Also, you may notice that the owl horns are slightly different from the pattern, because I messed up. My owls turned out to have mohawks instead of horns! So, I inserted a needle and added a couple of rows off of the forehead, and then tucked and attached the owl’s right horn from the inside. It worked well enough that I didn’t feel like I need to rip it out and correct it.
