This was an easy to follow pattern and went a lot faster than I thought it would! I made it a size up from what I needed so that it wouldn’t be tight on my “muffin top”. I was still worried when I finished because the neck was really tight, so were the arms and body. When I soaked it in cold water, it grew a LOT, which was great, because I could block it to whatever size I wanted really. I was nervous as it was drying, that I wouldn’t get it just right, so I put it on damp and let it dry to me. It worked great!
This was the first thing that I knitted (bigger than a scarf) with such tiny yarn, but I got used to it and now I’m hooked. First i-cord cast on and off, first fair isle knit, lots of new things to learn for me and it was so much fun. I watched youtube videos to learn the new techniques and that made it really easy.
Changes I made: I omitted the short rows in the back because it bothered me that the pattern wasn’t symmetrical all the way around. LOL! I would leave more stitches on for the neck of the size 8 the next time. It pulled the top snowflake pattern too tight, touches my neck in the front and is still a little too tight even after blocking. However, this sweater is so soft and breezy cool that it doesn’t matter at all!
Highly recommended, this sweater is my favorite thing that I’ve ever made and I get gushing compliments on it wherever I go! Thanks Kate!
