I had about a third of the skein left over after finishing my beret. Surely too much of this wonderful yarn to be simply consigned to the leftovers.
So I decided to see if i could get another hat out of it.
I started out without a plan just simple 1 by 1 ribbing. Then I switched to the 2 by 2 ribbing. At some point I became bored with it, so I crossed my ribbing. Few rows up I decided to cross again, shifting the place where I crossed my cables.
By the time I started to decrease I knew I was playing a yarn chicken. But I had just enough. The tail was about 5 inches long.
This is a very close fitting hat. And a very comfortable one too.
