Another experiment with knitting top of foot and cuff flat, seaming them, then picking up for heel and bottom of the foot. This picture is actually prototype 2, prototype 1 was frogged back to cuff for resizing and became prototype 3. Top of foot stitches will be held for a tighter treatment, bind off in garter doesn’t provide any snugness to hold up sock.

Used a heel flap and square heel, then knit a small gusset before knitting sole. Love the heel treatment, but have to write it down before going much further with this design.

Decided these went best with my plane outfit so they were finished in the car ride down to the airport. Took notes as I went, just have to get a pattern drafted then may put them out for testing.
