Started these as plane knitting for the sudden trip to Luxembourg for work. Have the pattern practically memorized and had been playing with color combinations, these three sock yarns were on hand and are definitely striking together, plus they are my daughter’s colors and as she is back in cold weather, she’ll be needing warm socks.

Made some modifications from the original pattern - all of the “intrusions” are worked in stockinette stitch with no turns on the return purl row which flattened out the “intrusions”. This makes the Garter stitch of the background pop. Also randomly alternating the “background” in a red koigu and self patterning sock yarn (used for bottom of sock as well) added some interest.
