Decided to knit with 3.25mm’s and 3.75mm’s for a slightly tighter gauge.
Already causing me big problems as I’m not used to baby knitting and babies vary so much in size. Oh and it really doesn’t help when the baby you’re knitting for lives over 200 miles away.
I thought the neck diameter may be too small so I didn’t join in the round. It was my intention to put a button on the back neck. Changed my mind, undid my work and upped the cast on stitches.
Cast on 84, decreased 12 after neck rib
Doubled the length of the neck rib and folded.
Neck decreased to 72 sts
Knit in half fisherman’s rib, purling alternate rounds when working in the round.
Tubular bind off.

The idea was to chain stitch Bill’s name on this but I’m not convinced what I’ve knitted will be large enough. I’ve now shop bought a larger jumper and will embroider on that and save this for another time.
