CO multiple of 3 plus edge sts`using provisional CO of your choice

CO 34 sts
Set up row 1: Sl 1pwyif, k1, P to last 2 sts, sl1pwyif, k1
Set up row 2: Sl1pwyif, k1, k to last 2 sts, sl1pwyif, k1
Repeat row 1 and 2, then row 1 once more

Begin lace pattern
Row 1: Sl1pwyif, k1, (yo, k3, slip first of the 3 sts just knitted over the next 2) repeat to last 2 sts, sl1wyif, k1

Row 2: Sl1pwyif,k1, p to last 2 sts, sl1pwyif, k1

Row 3: Sl1pwyif,k2,(yo, k3, pass first of the 3 sts just knitted over the next 2 repeat to last), k1, sl1pwyif, k1

Row 4: repeat row 2
Repeat these 4 rows for 16 repeats.

Stockinette section
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7: selvedge, knit to last 2 sts, selvedge
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8: selvedge, purl to last 2 sts, selvedge

Begin lace pattern again for 16 repeats.

When the scarf is long enough, finish with a full lace repeat and then a row of stockinette. Put provisional sts on needle and make a 3 needle BO or kitchener the edges.
