Converted to sweater- cast on same number of stitches, worked edgings as instructed until time to divide for armholes. Then overlapped the four edge stitches of each side and knitted each left border stitch together with its appropriate right border stitch to create an overlapping placket. Did three more rows in garter for just the four remaining border stitches, then worked all in stockinette until the bottom border.

As recommended in leftfootdaisy’s project notes, I did an extra row of garter in the MC in the yoke to avoid awkward carry-over of the CC with the last CC slipped edge stitch. Also skipped buttonholes entirely, and knit yo’s through the back loop to close them.

Held the purple and gray yarns together for the MC, and held two ends of the multicolor yarn together for the CC. Makes for a firm and strong fabric.
