Notes

Thrums made from 21 micron South Africa merino top from ebay.

Yarn was taken from a frogged sweater project, yardage is just a guess.

No pattern, but based on a bunch of googling about thrums. Next time I think I would just take pieces of roving and knit them in without stretching them and forming loops, as the loops are getting caught on my fingers. With wool as sticky as the Connemara, I doubt slippage would be a problem.

Cast on 30 sts with italian tubular cast-on over an extra circular needle. Increased to 48 sts over two rounds after ribbing was done. Increased 2 sts every other row for thumb gusset until I had 24 sts. Kitchenered the mitten tops. Thumb ends were decreased with two rounds of k1, k2tog before running the end of the yarn through the loops and pulling tight to close.

Made these to keep my hands warm when pushing the stroller, as I dislike most normal gloves/mittens- the synthetic linings make my fingers feel funny. These are so soft inside!
