Finally adding this project nearly a year after I knitted it for a friend to give to her grandson, so my memories of it are a little fuzzy. I did the pattern as written if memory serves me and all of that duplicate stitch made me twitchy. I think if I were to do it again I would try to strand some of it and duplicate stitch other bits.
