This was a fun, if time consuming, hat to make. I used a couple of colors of my handspun yarn and worked on it off and on over a year or so. The pattern stitch is from Barbara Walker’s Charted Knitting book, my favorite. The orange is not handspun, it’s Cash Iroha from Noro, now discontinued, and the technique with the orange is from the Folk Knitting from Estonia book, a nice braiding technique.
I love the fabric on this hat, it had lots of elasticity, and I think the colors are glorious. The photos just don’t do it justice.
