Notes

I made this design once before and really liked it. It worked up quickly and was very beautiful.

This one is very light, even though it’s a double cowl.

Original single cowl pattern casts on 120 st worsted, smaller needles and later works 60 st of the bulky with larger needles. For this double cowl, to save time, I held the worsted double, cast on 120 with larger needles and used them throughout, with bulky sections single str.

It’s important to cast on and bind off very loosely. Use JSSBO = Jeny’s (Staiman) Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off, directions available online.

Tip:
If you’re making this pattern with the two sizes of yarns and needles, it’s easier to work the kfb worsted row if you transfer all stitches to the smaller needles first.

Tip:
It’s fine to work all both yarns tog are for the last st of ea row row in order to carry the yarn not being worked. The resultant vertical line is hard to find even if you look for it, and when worn, it blends in and does not show.
