Notes

This pattern is very clear and includes all dimensions in cm and inches.

Plume
The Plume yarn is very pretty knitted up.
To this day, all Bergere de France yarns are actually made in France.
A rare thing.
Had been saving this yarn for this design for several years.
Excited have made it now.
A March birthday present.

The ribbing trimmed with the Metalika thread makes it extra special. Only a portion of the Metalika cone is used for this sweater. Plenty more for numerous great projects where a touch of shimmer is in order.

Recommendation
Instructions state to prepare the two yarn balls together, strands A and B, to be worked together.
It is much better and simpler to work the two strands directly from the skeins. If wound together in advance, the two strands coil around each other and the resultant ‘ply’ is not desirable.
Whenever I work two or more str tog, I never pre-wind the strands.

Gauge
My stitches are slightly smaller than gauge, but am sticking with it. Going to the next size needle would make stitches too big. The dimensions of my garment are exactly that of the schematic.

Yarn amounts
Back: 6 1/2 sk
L Front: 2 1/2 sk
R Front/ 2 1/2 sk
Ribbed sleeve / cuff: used 40 g, almost all of 1 sk
Second sleeve/ cuff: almost 1 sk
Collar band: 1/2 sk

Draping
The sides hang lower than the back (and hence the front) because of the boxy design and working of the main sections to the sleeve / cuffs.
If that’s not the look you want, you can circumvent it by inserting short rows across what is the center back.

If I make this design again, will comprise short rows to the center 20” or so (80 - 100 st) of the back section.

This garment, I worked about 100 rows of the back before beginning the shoulder decrease shaping.

In the future, I would place a short row, back and forth, every 10 rows or so. This will take more yarn, so need one more skein. The short rows will not be detectable, no matter how closely one looks at it.

I prefer Japanese short rows. They’re easy for me and achieve the desired result.

Note:
I have this pattern in leaflet form.
The entire directions, including a schematic, are on one 8” x 12” page.

I made size S/M, which calls for 13 sk Plume. I had 14 and used every last inch of it, so, plan ahead.
