This incredible yarn: hand dyed by Amor Esperanza, owner / dyer Crave Yarn, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, showcases detailed stitch work with a burnished, antique look; a faded denim appearance.

This pattern by the incomparable Ms. Marveng is very clearly written and no detail is left to chance. The X’s and O’s rib cable patt is comprised of 32 r, but it’s easy to see where you are and easy to execute.

The designer instructs the knitter to place a few markers along the row, which I highly recommend. They make it much easier than without.

It’s a great project to do if you’re not quite up for working on a sweater.

Decided on button closure because so many people like that.
