Notes

This is a design masterpiece.
In my opinion, the designer has invented a new way to execute the lace motifs which appear at the lower edge.

The written directions and charts are clear and thorough.
The designer has a video tutorial on the custom bindoff.

The cable patterns are unique.
The main section is comprised of cable columns with st st in between.
This shawl takes time to work up, but is worth it.
The designer is attentive to her group and to anyone making any of her designs.

kal began July 25
An exciting design and kal.
Have a beautiful yarn trio for it.
And beads!
A continuation of my beading phase.

size 6/0
Placed beads throughout as directed by designer.
Used ~ 2,150 beads, 1.25 tubes total.
Sorted the med blue beads from the dark ones.
Used ~ 1,300 med blue (.75 tube) and 850 dark blue (.5 tube).

on gauge with US 2

Part 1, 30 RS patterned rows done, Aug 10.
(WS rows are purled acr)
Part 2, 36 RS rows done, Aug 18.
Part 3, 30 RS rows done, Aug 25.
Part 4, 16 RS rows done, Sept 1.
Part 5, 11 RS rows finished and Air Bender bind-off started, Sept 8.
Last row and bindoff take time.
Bind off, half done, Sept 11.
All done, Sept 12.

Note:
One needs 70 + markers for the last row.
They are mandatory for the special bindoff.
One can make markers from segments of scrap yarn.

Tip:
One needs a yarn that is tightly plied and / or has a smooth texture. Yarn with even a slight halo doesn’t work as well.
The yarn I used is a fine roving and requires quite a bit of coaxing to realize the special technique at the lower edge.

Technically, I’m done!
Done with the knitting, but have to do some more unraveling.
Gave this away before getting any more pictures.
