The designer frames the piece with a unique beautiful garter st edge on both long edges and notably, the bindoff edge.

This Alpaca Silk is about the single most exquisite yarn I’ve ever seen or worked with. I have a limited amount and choose patterns for it very judiciously. I chose well here.

On gauge with US 6.
Have beautiful 6/0 Czech glass seed beads.
15 beads / g x 24 g x 6 tubes = 2,160 beads.
Added a selvedge st, both long sides for beaded sl st, beg ea row.
Placed a bead on ea yo, part of the garter st edge.
Had about 60 beads leftover, therefore used ~ 2,100 total.

Needed one more skein to finish.
I used 35 of its 50 g.
Used about 10 g for the bindoff alone.
