Notes

I am very thankful to the incomparable Ms. Linda for this exquisite design. I’ve never seen anything like it.

It is not hard to make. The designer has very good directions and charts.

(I’m sorry I didn’t have the chance to get a better picture. It is already given away and Jess loved it very much. She’ll wear it often.)
Actually, I think she’s using it as a wall hanging.

Yarn:
Hand dyed by Chamomile Connection yarn, Lynnae McConaha, Mimbres, NM. This yarn is very beautiful and is easy to knit. It shows the stitch patterns very well, even for this dark gray color.

Pattern is charted only.
The designer’s page says that charts 1 and 2 are labeled incorrectly, but I think they’re correct as printed. Maybe she fixed the directions but didn’t update the design page.

The main section is made from loops picked up from the border and the designer was very clever. The border is stitched with a needle one size smaller than the main section, so the loops and stitches match up 1 : 1. The border has 1 st st slipped, so two rows of the border make one loop to be joined with one row of the main section. It all works out magically.

I recommend getting an additional slightly enlarged printout of that chart in order to see the cables a little better.

I wrote out all the charts because there were so many different cables and other stitch patterns going on. It took time, but sped up the knitting and minimized errors. It’s can be tricky to see whether the stitches from the previous row are knit or purl in some areas from the WS.

Ended after r 32 so I wouldn’t run out of yarn.
Elected to make border chart 1 again and attach separately vs making border chart 2 joining as it is worked.
