Notes

It took me a bit to understand how to work the even rows of this design. I almost gave up on it, but since I’d just paid for it, wanted to figure it out. It’s a two row pattern that is easily memorized once you get it.

I’ve seen several other designs by the prolific and talented Ms. Irina.
Her designs are truly inspired.

Adjusted needle size and gauge up for my yarns, bulky and fingering together, because patt gauge was too dense.

recommendation
Knit last st of every row.
Slip first st purlwise, yif, every row.
Allow ample slack of slipped st which spans two rows and needs to be stretchy.

modification
Eyelet Rib:
worked RS 4 st patt as:
(ssk, double yo, k2tog).
worked WS: all stitches purlwise, including the two stitches worked into the double yo, (except knit the last WS st as mentioned prior).

modification
Pattern as written is reversible.
both sides appear as garter st.
Mine:
Elected to work WS (even) rows purled.
reversible as st st.
RS knit, WS purl.

note
Upon completion of the last row of increases, make note of how much yarn has been used. Set aside this much for the decrease section before commencing with the middle section. This insures there will be enough, rather than going by inches of project worked.

note
One can make the increases by any desired method except as a simple yo.
There can’t be a gap or space there.
It doesn’t matter whether one uses M1L, M1R, or lifted increases.
A backward loop inc could result in a gap, so that method isn’t the best.

If anyone wants the line by line written directions I used, I’m happy to share them.
