Notes

This is an elegant, yet simple scarf. It is a free pattern from Be Sweet, borrowed by raveler Espacetricot using Blue Sky Alpacas Metalico yarn.

Awesome Technique
EZ’s Phoney Seams:
(from the incomparable, the late Ms. Elizabeth Zimmermann) creating faux side seams, so the piece lies flat.
Directions available online.

Worked faux side stitches along the way, making it easy.
It works wonders and looks beautiful.

Substituted Baby Alpaca Sport, an incredibly soft, beautiful yarn.
Colors in this order:
callalily, brown, copper, lt gray, dark tan, natural light, copper.

Chose a slightly bigger guage than original pattern.
Cast on 74 st, join. k thru out.
Worked one row crochet ( st, ch 1, sk 1 acr ) on each edge for hem finish which also prevents ends from rolling.

This is a project where the continental st comes in most useful. Working diligently, one sk can be stitched in one evening.

Given to a good work friend who moved from Albuquerque to Indianapolis.
