This is an incredibly creative design ( free pattern ) incorporating simultaneous use of a lacey and bulky yarn. I’ve made it once before and loved making it and loved the end result. It works up very quickly.

Worked the lacey yarn double for cast on and cast off rows for more stability there. Used JSSBO for cast off row = Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off from the wonderful Jeny Staiman.

This is a project where knowing the continental knit style comes in very handy.

As the designer recommends, do not be tempted to use the lacewt yarn double thru out, lest you mask the contrast of the lacey rows vs the bulky.

Casted on 52 st for a little more circumference.

The El Cielo yarn is very luxurious and soft and is about half the price of other similar yarns. It comes in several beautiful colors. One sk is enough for two of these scarves.

The Sherpa yarn is beautiful and super fun. One sk is enough for two scarves of this design.

This design is versatile. Can be worn as a scarf, hood or cowl. It’s going to make a very nice gift.
