Love this pattern. It’s very pretty for a big yarn. It’s a 4 r patt that is memorized quickly.
Love this yarn. It’s big, soft and fun to work up. There’s a generous yardage on ea sk as well.

This yarn is bulkier than the one in the original design so I cast on 20 st and work one less cable patt. I also used a cable needle to hold the first set in back and the second set in front so the two would mirror each other.

Clarification:
Rows 1 & 3:
Instructions state to k1tbl into the double yo of prev r.
One needs to k1tbl into each loop of that double yo.
When made this the first time, I was making one st, dropping a loop and losing a st ea time. The st count stays the same on every r.

When my daughter saw this design, she wanted one as a scarf and she chose her color. I worked a few rows of 1x1 rib, loosely to start and end it off.

The first picture was taken before washing. The design opens up and is more apparent after washing.
