The faux strap detail is very creative.

Designer’s tip
Ms. Erin has a very good technique for crochet ribbing.
Work traditional sc in first and last stitches of the ribbing and sc back loop into the ones in between. This results in a tidier look compared to sc back loop in all.

Worked ribbing 34 r, G 4.0 mm hook, for a looser wrist fit.
Worked hand section 32 st, US 7 4.5 mm hook.
Worked more rows for length.
Worked a couple rows sc, then sl st, ch1 for top finish on one mitt.
Wasn’t paying attention on the second mitt and made a second section of back loop hdcs. Went with that and finished the top a little differently as well.
