Notes

I’m not the biggest fan of designs that are video only, but I watched parts 1 & 2 for this one and I’m sure it’s going faster, having seen the pieces being made. I have it all written down.

The videos are very clear and well done.

Egg: 3.25 mm hook
Pterodactyl in egg: 3.75 mm hook
Egg laying pterodactyl: 3.5 mm hook

Recommendation
Make note of the minute mark on the video every once in a while while you write it down. If you make a mistake, it’s easier to find again, later. If you’re making your project from the video directly, by all means, keep track of the minute marks.

Recommendation
Body:
after working r 19, (~ 11:00 min, video # 1), the designer inverts the piece worked thus far.
Row 20 is worked WS facing, sc, back loops only.
Subsequent rows, regular sc’s, were continued with WS facing.
Later, after r 44, one inserts the egg and stuffs the piece, in between the egg liner and outer body.

Unless I misunderstood something, she doesn’t turn the piece RS out before inserting the egg and placing stuffing.
I recommend turning the piece RS out, then stuff evenly with the egg in place.

In fact, one can turn the piece back to RS after r 20.
Alternatively, one could work r 20, RS facing, front loops only, then subsequent rows, regular sc. R 20 helps create the fold area between the egg liner and outer body sections.

Elected to make the egg with an opening so a baby pterodactyl could be in the egg.
When I stuffed the main section, I temporarily put stuffing in the egg, then placed it inside the body. This insured proper fit and prevented over stuffing.

Worked the main body section and head tapestry style for a sturdier fabric.

Hard to estimate how much yarn was used.
I mixed and matched two different skeins for various sections. The designer doesn’t give yarn quantities.
