This is an easy and fun design for the Highlander / Outlander style cowl that’s so popular. I didn’t work the broken 16 row pattern, worked flat, then seamed.

I adapted the pattern for cont rib, worked in the round for this one. Cast on 72.

Held both yarns tog and worked as one. Wanted the metallic for a little sparkle. It doesn’t affect the guage or drape. I was concerned that the Metallic would look cheap, but it looks great. It luminesces.

Cast on very loosely, an even # of st for desired circumference.
Join without twisting and place marker.
R1: knit across.
R2: (k1, p1 below) across.
Repeat above two rows to desired width.
Cast off very loosely.

If you want the broken rib pattern, simply work the above 2 rows for 8 rows.
For the next 8, (r 2: p1 below, k1).
Alternate this 16 row pattern.
