Notes

This delightful design is very creative and it’s easy to see that the designer put a lot of work into it and the pattern directions.

No need to fear short rows in this one!
No wrapping. Yay!
The project is simply turned at the designated place.
In the next row, there’s just ssk (RS) or p2tog (WS) to close up that area and go on.
Nothing to fret about.

The fan style here is different from feather and fan sets one sees in other patterns. Very pretty.

One doesn’t see shawls with this shape and construction very often.
It’s a shawl. No, it’s a scarf. No, it’s a sharf!

Helpful hint:
In rows 8 and 10, there’s k2tog tbl.
Another way to work that task is:
( sl 1 kwise ) 2x, k2tog.

Another helpful hint:
Row 11, p2tog tbl.
Instead, try:
( sl 1 pwise ) 2x, p2tog.

Added a 6.0 glass bead to every 4th st of the gold accent rows.
I didn’t have matching beads for the lace sections, but if I did, I would add a bead at every yo when working the yo on the next WS row.

Can’t believe it! I was on gauge with pattern needles, first try swatch! Usually, I have to go down a needle size.

Lots of stitches to work in each row, but they’re not joined, obviously. The pattern is easy and rows work up relatively quickly.

I made mistakes here and there, but was able to make an adjustment without issue and without going back.

Reminder
Pattern instructs to use a bigger needle for CO and bindoff.
A very good technique.
Remember to switch to smaller needle when commencing with main section.
Likewise, remember the bigger needle when binding off.
For the bindoff, one can use a regular straight (RH) needle, because it’s only used one st at a time to work off the project (LH) stitches.

Used about 15 g or 75 y per lace section.

Elected to work bindoff knitwise. Used bigger needle and JSSBO (Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bindoff).

I’ve had these yarns set aside for this design for some time and am so happy to have made it now.
I’ve used Fino yarn before. It’s easy to work with and creates a beautiful project.
The Wooly Wonka yarn is most luxurious. Rich color and texture. Very soft.
