Notes

The ginkgo leaf in this design is very beautiful.

A wedding gift in April to the bride with Asian roots.
The ginkgo tree and leaf are symbols of long life and prosperity in Asian culture.

Ravellenics 2022 Shawl Skating Event.
Very dangerous!
A race to the finish line.
Made it!

Recommendation # 1:
Lace border has many k3tog.
Work sl 1, k2tog, psso instead.
It doesn’t look exactly the same but it centers the three stitches beautifully and is faster and easier.

Recommendation # 2:
For all sections between markers for stems and leaves, look at the directions one row ahead. If the RS row has M1R or M1L, work your WS purl stitches on the previous row very loosely. This will makes the M1 increases easier to execute.

Recommendation # 3:
The last row (r 28) and bind off row, as written, are done purlwise, RS facing.
Make things a easier and faster.
Cut yarn after r 27.
Reattach yarn onto opposite side, WS facing and work row 28 and bindoff knitwise. In so doing, the only adjustment will be for r 28: remember to switch the knits and purls on the stitches of the leaf.

Modification:
Placed 6 leaves at the border:
a group of three, a pair and single leaf.
3 + 2 + 1 = 6
All these numbers are symbols of good fortune.

Leaves can be added (m, k2, m) as desired.
Plain stitches (in multiples of 6 + 3) in between each leaf work perfectly.
Here’s how I did it:
On the row designated as:
Next row, place markers for leaf stem sts (RS):
k2, kyok, m, k2, m, k15, m, k2, m, k 15, m, k2, m, k 105, m, k2, m, k 21, m, k2, m, k 51, m, k 2, m, k31, kyok, k2.

Linaza is one of my all time favorite yarns.

Beads:
beautiful 8/0 Czech glass seed beads which have a metallic gold interior.
added an extra selvedge stitch with a bead on each edge.
beaded all yo’s just inside the garter stitch side borders.
beaded the k3tog loop on the purl row of the lace section.
beaded every stitch on the bindoff.
