This is a simple yet sophisticated non-lacey design. And free! Very generous of the designer.

The diagonal pattern looks braided. It’s very nice when designers take the time to make a beautiful pattern for chain store yarns. There’s some good patterns for Scarfie from Lion Brand that are free, but this one has more detail.

As written ( 5” x 46” ), it’s great for a guy’s muffler style scarf in a solid. It’s also wonderful for someone who doesn’t want a girlie scarf. It certainly complements Scarfie.

I cast on 42 for more width, vs 22 as written. Have a little more than one sk for extra length, too. Started off with the two 30 g segments cut off from a skein of a previous project.

I was over guage, but that’s fine. The scarf has a good texture and drape.

I marked the garter st edge of r 8 on the RS in order to see what row I’m on. With the black shaded yarn, the stitches aren’t obvious.

A note about this yarn:
Not every sk has a knot or knots, but they’re not uncommon. Furthermore, knotted segments don’t match so one needs to pull out numerous yards to get to the next matching area. That can consume many yards.
