Notes

Don’t be alarmed by the amount of yarn used.
I held yarn double.
I used a loop technique that used a ton of yarn.

Used a 10” round pillow insert from Fashion Camp At Home:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/846212705/pillow-form-insert...=
The prices of their round pillows are very reasonable but the shipping is very high. One must buy enough pillows to qualify for free shipping. Without that, the cost of the insert : shipping is about 1:1. Round pillow inserts are hard to find and are more costly elsewhere.

Erratum:
Body (gray / white):
Pattern states:
r16: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 13 stitches) repeat 5x. (96)
Correction:
r 16: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 14 stitches) repeat 5x. (96)

Front:
Worked the underside with smaller hook, 11 rows, smaller hook.
Worked chain loops around the outer rows as follows:
stitched r 12, sc, increases as written, loop yarn, larger hook.
stitched (ch 7, sc) in next, front loop.
stitched r 13 with increases as written, back loop.
Proceeded as above thru r 16, 96 st.

When I work the crochet loop stitch, the fabric loosens up too much. I wasn’t doing the stitch properly. I misunderstood the photo tutorial. Now I know how.

Locking it in: The Loop Stitch:
I recommend this video:

Very helpful.
Ms. Sharpin’s photo tutorial is slightly different but both methods work.

From the designer:
Care Sharpin bolster pillows use a 14-inch pillow form.
The round pillows use a 16-inch pillow form.
Can make the pillows larger or smaller by adding or deleting rows. Instructions in the patterns on how to do this.

Use worsted or aran weight yarn.

The amount of yarn varies depending on tension. For example, the hedgehog and Sheep Pillow use the loop stitch. The height of your loop stitch will cause you to use less (or more) yarn. One can opt out of adding the loop stitch on the back which will save yarn.

The Lion Pillow doesn’t use the loop stitch, the “hair” will vary depending on how long you make it. For that one, long hair is not added to the back.

For all of them, you’ll want white, black, and light pink in small amounts for the details.

Hedgehog and Sheep use around 300-500 grams of the main color.
Lion uses about 300 grams of the main color
Kitten Bolster Pillow uses 200 grams of color A and 150 grams of color B. (In the pick, light gray is Color A)

Issue:
The directions give no assistance in adjusting the pattern for a smaller size. Row gauge is given: 10 rows / 4”. It is a little tricky to figure out how many fewer rows to work. One wants the same proportion of body to loop stitch surround. Not happy about that.
