Simple and elegant.

My gauge (Celestial, bulky) is 10 st / 4 “ US 11.
The looser gauge with this yarn is just right. Don’t want fabric to be more dense.
Collar: Celestial single, CO 23.
Body section: picked up 125 st US 13, worsted double.

Worked one row sc along both short edges to control the curling there. If one works both those edges in garter st for one or two stitches, those sides will lie flat.

Worked last two rows of main section in garter stitch for the same reason.

Pattern instructions:
patt yarn held double thru out.
Collar, 9” wide:
CO 27.
Work garter st to 56”.
Body section:
Pick up 150 st from one horizontal collar edge.
Work st st 14”.
Ties:
At inner edges, make two crochet ties:
J hook, ch to 12”.
