Notes

This is a beautiful free pattern from Berroco designed for this yarn. It has a swirling cable pattern but no cable needle is used, rather yo, ssk and k2tog, yo.

The cable / eyelet pattern is easier to see with a Gusto solid vs a multi yarn.

Adapted pattern to work flat as a ~ 9” wide scarf since I have 3 sk and not everyone wants a cowl. There’s always someone who wants a winter white scarf.

Cast on 20. Patt is in sets of 5 st and 8 r.
Follow pattern on odd rows: 1, 3, 5, 7.
For even rows, 2, 4, 6, 8: k3, p2.

Tip: when making yo’s, pull yarn snug so the space isn’t too big.

For a beautiful edge finish:
knit last st of every row, then at beg every row: sl 1st st pwise, then move yarn to back clockwise if second st is knit. If second st is a purl, yarn is already where it’s needed.

For a nice hem finish, worked 2 r sc, ch1, then 1 r sl st with 9.0 mm hook.

The patt is easily memorized and with this bulky thick and thin yarn it’s fun and works up quickly.
