Wash / tumble dry lap blanket a couple times before giving away in order to remove loose fibers.

Lion Brand Go for Faux comes in several other very beautiful animal style tones plus a pretty dusty pink.
It retails for $7, but can be found on sale for $5.25 or so. Walmart has it for $5.
