Notes

If you’re making this design and you have trouble with charts, here’s two links with the motif written out:
worked flat:

in the round:

Kors havn (Norwegian) translates to cross harbor. Name is fitting. Making this for a family friend in Indonesia. Yes, the Indonesia that’s on the equator. It gets a bit colder when it rains there. Dita puts a sweater on then.

Beautiful pattern.
Written pretty clearly.
One needs to read the directions carefully.
I wish the charts were written out.
There’s only 12 rows, but deciphering the worked flat chart was tricky for me. I’m inept at charts. Later, I found the motif written out, as seen above.

Issue:
One needs to get a handle on the stitch pattern when making the swatches and when working the lower torso rows because it is tricky to keep the motif going. The charts don’t illustrate decreases and the directions could be clearer on that.

Issue:
There’s a partial motif on the front right and back left, at least on the size M that I made.
A little disappointed about that. The stitch counts should be planned to have complete motifs. Since this was the first time making this design, I didn’t know how to deal with it.

Next time:
I will cast on stitches in multiples of 8, allowing for the underarm decreases and having complete motifs after the front / back divide. There can be an even number or odd number. Having an odd number would look a little better, size allowing.

Next time:
Place front / back bindoff stitches exactly even.
The design specifies: bindoff 2, marker, bindoff 6, work to other side, bindoff 2, marker, bindoff 6, proceed with back.
I will do bindoff 3, m, bindoff 3, work acr, 3, m, 3.

Swatch, swatch, swatch:
First swatch was on gauge (15 st / 4”) before washing, but upon washing, stitches relaxed: gauge 13 st / 4”. Don’t like the looser fabric, so, swatched again with a smaller needle.

Preferences:
Pattern uses k1tbl, p1 ribbing. I did that on the lower border. I wish I had done a regular k1, p1 rib there. Worked regular k1, p1 rib at neck and arm opening ribbing.
Didn’t do the folded ribbing.

Used regular long tail cast on, very loosely.
Worked an extra 12 rows before the front / back divide.
Made collar band narrow, single layer.
Made arm ribbing single layer.
Worked some decreases at the curve area of arm ribbing so it wouldn’t flare out.
Worked regular bindoff, stretchy.

Held two yarns together.
M & K Alpaca Silk is just about my most favorite yarn in the world.
Love Juniper Moon Sabine yarn very much as well. Ravelry knitters have complained about it, but, I’ve had no issues whatsoever.
