Notes

A baby gift for whomever in the future.

Design yarn:
Bo Peep Pure: DK, 100% wool, 122 y / 50 g
3 balls of Yarn A Natural, 366 y
1 ball Yarn B Mist, 122 y
1 ball Yarn C Blackcurrant, 122 y

Design dimensions: 20” x 28”, a little small for a baby blanket.
Made it bigger for usefulness and to use all the yellow and blue yarn.
Worked 120 st / row, 115 rows.

Design uses British Crochet Terminology:
HBhtr, htr, dc, which is HBhdc, hdc and sc in US Crochet Terminology.

Special Stitch in US Crochet Terminology:
Herringbone half double crochet:

This stitch is very beautiful. The zigzag is realized over two rows.
I had a hard time making it with the Hempathy yarn, so I elected to do a stacked hdc. It doesn’t zigzag like the HBhdc, but it still looks beautiful. It would have taken me forever to make this blanket with the special stitch as written.

I’m sure that the HBhdc would be no trouble with a wool yarn.

Hempathy yarn is stiff to work with. It softens and drapes after washing.
Blanket shrank 5% upon MW warm / tumble dry warm

Border:
Gold: 1r sc
White: 1 r sc
Blue: 1r hdc, 1 r sc, 1 r sl st
