A beautiful design for a wonderful yarn.
I love leaf motifs.

I got a few sk this luxury yarn at a discount a few years ago and have chosen the projects for it very carefully.

I worked another project with US 11 and got a gauge of 12 st / 4”. I think a gauge of 16 st, as listed in the pattern would be too dense. Have plenty of yarn, so I’m sticking with the US 11’s.

Tried Jeny’s Stretchy Slipknot Cast-On. I didn’t want the inner edge of the shawl to be restricted by a cast on that was tight. I was struggling with this cast on and needed many stitches, so I elected to work a provisional cast on. Bound this edge off loosely before completing the lower edge.

Used Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off as I do for nearly all my projects.

Elected to work first and last three st every row in garter st, beg with k3…k3, as opposed to p3…p3. Just a little simpler.

Worked one edge st, ea side in very loose st st for smooth edges. Cast on two extra st for that.

Omitted stem motif and worked eyelets instead.

Because my gauge was bigger, I ran out of yarn after row 47. No matter. The leaf motif is complete.
