Notes

All the fairy rag doll designs are delightful, creative and unique.
It’s a lovely touch that decorative Certificates are provided for each one, for gift giving of the finished ragdoll.

Don’t be alarmed by the amount of yarn used on my project:
fingering yarns double, 3.5 mm hook.
light fingering, double, 3.75 mm hook.

Modified the shell stitch for the dress because the shells were too dense with the double str yarn / hook I used.

Attached the legs to the bottom of the dress so the bloomers draped over the legs.

I acknowledge that these rag dolls are design marvels.
Design, pattern writing and tech editing are formidable tasks.
That said, the directions could be formatted more efficiently.

Recommendation:
Buy only one of this designer’s fairy patterns to see how you like how it is formatted.
She has a very generous multi-pattern discount but not everyone will like the formatting.
The print friendly version takes 21 pages.
If you crochet from an iPad or laptop, printing isn’t an issue.

I rewrote the directions for myself, which took a lot of time, but it printed on a mere 5 pages.

The head, neck, hands, arms, feet, hair cap, and wings are the same for each rag doll, so one printout of those suffices for all. Only the torso / clothes, legs and hair will be different on the various fairy rag dolls, so those are the only ones that need to be printed separately. The shoes are the same for the girl fairies.

The Wings:
They are tricky.
Use the photo tutorial right away.
Use a yarn where the stitches show very well.
Near the beginning and end of rows, there’s ‘3 dc in next, ch 2’ and ‘ch 2, 3 dc in next’. On the subsequent rows, skip those ch 2 spaces. It isn’t written that way.

There are a few errors in the pattern that one has to figure out.

Recommendation:
One can use the ear pattern from the boy elf for fairy ears. They’re a little big, but one can adjust them to be smaller.
There typos in those directions, but they’re easy to figure out.
