Möbius! What fun!
- a two dimensional surface with one side and only one edge. Discovered independently by German mathematicians August Ferdinand Möbius and Johann Benedict Listing in 1858.

Don’t feel too sorry for Listing. He’s credited with coining the term topography and the eponymous Listing Numbers (topography) and Listing Law (optometry).

No. I’m not smart. I looked it up so you wouldn’t have to and you can spend more time knitting!

This is the first möbius cowl I’ve ever made. With this bulky yarn, it looks luxurious and fun to wear. There’s several ways to arrange it.

I’ve done patterns with k1b and p1b before and really like the rib and thicker texture one gets without holding the yarn double.

It is imperative to cast on and cast off very loosely. The rib is very stretchy. Knowing JSSBO = Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off is worth doing here.

I really like this Roving yarn. It looks expensive, but is budget friendly, especially if purchased on sale or with coupons. This project is an efficient use of the two skeins. Only a couple yards leftover.

My cowl came out more narrow and longer than patt. I was on guage. Oh, well. I plan to make it again and will get another sk in order to get the full width. I like the length and one can go a bit longer if desired.

A quick project! Made in one day! Wonderful gift!
