Notes

This yarn’s subtle shading is beautiful and it is incredibly soft. The wave patt isn’t as apparent due to the blue / white bicoloring, however, the cowl is still lovely. After handwash in lukewarm water once, all excess dye was out. Top two pictures are after washing.

Cowl is ltwt, therefore suitable for indoor office wear as well as outer wear. It’s a luxurious accessory to have.

It’s easy to know what row you’re on after just a few patts.
Note:
Initial row, set up row, or row 0 = WS.
Patt Rows 1 & 3 = RS, 2 & 4 = WS.

St ct: 36 st betw markers all rows.
Tip:
With RS facing, if row of purl bumps are right up against needle, that was r 2. Next row is r 3, with the k2togs and yo k1’s…

With RS facing, if purl bump row is a bit further down from needle, the prev r was #4.

Suggestion: work provisional cast on:
omit set up row, cast on 43, yes, 43.
Cast on row: cast on 3, place marker. Place second marker prior to last 4 st cast on. ( Once you have done the bind off of the first st at beg of every row, you will have 3 st to the right of that marker.
Working yarn cast on is r 1 of patt.
Work 4 row patt thru out. Finish with row 3, omitting yo at row end. Remove markers.
Rejoin with grafting/kitchener st, or 3 needle bind off, or sl st crochet 2 loops tog.
I found it easier to do the grafting stitches with both ends on the needles, back to back, as shown. Worked end can be slid off the needles as you go. I can’t find where the join is, even when I look for it.

Used this same yarn in another project Vivian’s Cabled Capelet, which was lovely.
