This is a very unusual design! Incredibly creative shaping. A fun knit, and fast (1 week!).

Great guidance on W & T (wrap and turn) for short rows.

Uses a great finishing technique: JSSBO = ‘Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off’, which is clearly explained and lives up to its name. Find Jeny Staiman’s technique at www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/Featjssbo.php

Tip: Before casting on, pull out 3 - 4 X the length of the future side seam. One less yarn end to take care of later. I seamed via sl st crochet with an H 5.0 mm hook.

I worked cast on row only with US 17 12.0 mm needles, so it was sure to be loose enough.

Knitted on armscye openings in the flat before seaming because I didn’t have the needed 16” circular. I picked up needed stitches as I went along the first armscye row in 1:1 ratio. Picking all the stitches up before knitting that first row was too tight on the needles.

If you want to make this with the same yarn as the designer and you’ve never seen it or your local shop doesn’t have it, it is discontinued but still available online. It is beautiful and you’ll be happy with it, sight unseen. Comes in several lovely soft shades.
