Notes

Love the elegance and simplicity of this design.
Takes a while to make but it’s easy and enjoyable.
I set it aside from time to time to give my hands a break because the yarn needs to be held firmly all the time.

Eyelets and Beads:
Added a bead to each eyelet.
Worked a single yo (vs double yo as written) in order to have smaller eyelets.
Worked one purl st with a bead, then another purl into the single yo on next row.

lt gray section: 180 crystal
med gray section: 180 metallic silver
black section: 180 hematite

Pulled out several yards in advance for sc hem vs provisional cast on / bind off written. Will finish with traditional bind off and sc edge finish.

colorblock:
This yarn is not a gradient.
It is three colors joined with knots.
Keep this in mind if the location of the color change will be in an awkward place.

note:
The vertical lines apparent in my picture are artifact of using markers that are a little too wide for this fine yarn.
The lines are consistent and look like part of the design, so I’m not worrying about them. They were greatly diminished upon washing.

fingering vs lace wt:
This yarn is categorized as fingering.
It is a lace wt.
Typically, fingering yarn has ~ 440 y / 100 g.
Lace wts have 500 - 1,000 y / 100 g.
This yarn has 550 y / 100 g.

‘It’s a Wrap’ is a ‘craft store’ item. It is my opinion that if it were listed as lace wt, fewer people would buy it because those shoppers might be less familiar with lace wts. They will be more familiar with fingering because of the similar ‘sock yarns’.

knots:
There were knots here and there in various places of the skein. Not a big concern considering the quality of the skein is very good in general. To remedy, pull out a row’s worth of yarn in advance so the unwanted knot doesn’t appear in the middle of the next row.

yarn joining:
It is rare that I join yarn by knotting, but this is an instance where a knot is called for. In the i-cord edge, it is invisible and won’t be felt when worn.
Thanks to Ms. Tana Glenn, createlaughgrow.com, for a very good photo tutorial and written directions for a secure knot for knitting.
