I get a slightly smaller stitch gauge but am staying with it because the fabric feels just right and the height of the hat will be a little 14”, which is plenty. It won’t be quite as slouchy as the design (16” ht).
Stitches relax after washing.

If one makes the hat and pom from the same skein, the whole skein will be used because poms use up a lot.
