This is a great, free pattern! It’s a lot of fun to make the special motif. It’s very fancy and pretty. It looks complicated, but is easily mastered. Directions are very clear. There’s a video tutorial, but I made the split bullion st from the written directions alone.

I worked the beg ch very loosely with yarn held double. It strengthens the edge and looks pretty. Worked 14 bullion rows. Finished final sc row very loosely with yarn held double. Had just enough yarn.
