Notes

Fabulous design! Perfect for this yarn.

This designer has numerous unique pillows for chic decor.
Hah! Take that, Pottery Barn!

I’m a big fan of this designer.
On Etsy:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/alemaka?ref=shop-header-name&am...
Her prices there are similar to ravelry, but she has discounts on Etsy.

Nice touch:
The designer staggers increases on subsequent rows which results in a true circle vs a ‘hexagonal circle’.

Gauge confusion:
Pattern states gauge as 50 st / 4” (10 cm).
That can’t be right.
Probably more like 15 sc / 4” (10 cm).

‘little darlin, …and I say: It’s all right…’ (George Harrison)

Yarn quantities:
2 str tog
Front: 70 g, 190 y
Side gusset, personal addition: 15 g, 25 y
Back: 70 g, 190 y
Rays: 80 g, 210 y

How about a fast project!
Takes about 1 1/2 hours to make the front piece. Probably less.

How about a great project with not a lot of yarn!
I used essentially the same amount of yarn as the design project, adjusting for double str (648 / 2 = 324 y) vs design single str (328 y).

How about a gusset!
Elected to work one row sc back loop only after the last row of the front piece. I then worked 3 rows sc, even, followed by one row sc back loop only. I then proceeded with the back piece, working the rows in reverse order. I stuffed it before completing the last 4 or 5 rows.
The side gusset isn’t necessary and on can have a beautifully shaped pillow without it.

How about working the main section all in one piece!
One can work the back continuously by making the front as written and then proceeding with the last row of the back, working to the first row. Simply work decreases where the directions state to increase.
