Have made this hat before and it is wonderful.
I’m a big fan of Ms. Denise.

DK yarn 3 str tog.
CO 60, US 11

Elected to use US 11 thru out.
I made a gauge swatch of the sand stitch with that one.
Nice fabric.
I think the ribbing would have been about the same, whether US 9 or US 11.

Very stretchy, comfy and warm, whether with brim folded up or slouchy style.
