Thanks to Ms. Myla for this easy design and the work flat option. Directions are very clear and there’s detailed size specifications.

Down a bunch of needle sizes to get guage with this yarn. I’m usually over guage, but typically not that much. Oh, well, it doesn’t matter what needle you use as long as you’re at the correct gauge. The DK yarn the designer used might have been finer than what I’m using.

Cast on 100. That size worked out the best.

Knitted flat because I don’t like dpns or other in the round methods for small projects. I made a mistake reading the ‘work flat’ directions. I forgot to ptbl on even rows of beg ribbing. By doing it consistently wrong, it looks like it belongs that way and is pretty. I’ll get it right next time.

This hat works up relatively quickly. The pattern is pretty even though it’s very simple.

There isn’t any open work, obviously, but the fabric has just the right density. I’m making this head cover for a friend who is going thru chemotherapy. Hopefully it will be comfortable thru the summer.

I haven’t used this yarn before. Of course, Rowan: it’s been around quite a while. It has a light and airy quality that is lovely.

The yarn wrapper says the yarn is hand wash, flat dry. I washed the hat in machine gentle and machine dry gentle. It came out just fine.
