Notes

This is an easy patt that’s very pretty. Most rows are worked knitwise.

Directions are well written and are explained for worsted, aran and bulky yarns.

Holding Mystery Yarn single str and fingering double. Divided cowl in thirds and color blocked the fingering; first 2 str gold fingering, then one gold / one black, finally 2 str black.

I have no idea what the Mystery Yarn is, but it’s quite pretty and drapey and easy to work with. The gold metallic portion is a shiny two-ply. The black portion is a faux mohair two-ply.

It took me a bit to remember how to make the cable row without a cable needle and without holding the stitches. One can knit into the 3rd st, leaving the original loop on the left needle. Then knit the 1st st on left needle and move it off. Stitch the 2nd st, and slip both stitches off to the right. It’s easier to do than to explain. It’s faster and easier once you get the hang of it.
