Notes

A beautiful yarn and spectacular beads for this unique wedding gift shawl.

I’m very glad the designer took the time to write the pattern line by line. I’m not a chart person, so I wouldn’t be making this otherwise.
Thanks, Ms. Tiziana!

3 various skeins:
lace weight (not in ravelry database)
80 g, 40 g, 15 g = 135 g
450y, 225 y, 85 y = 760 y measured
(560 y / 100 g = 650 y / 115 g)

Note:
Upon working with this yarn, excess dye rubs off onto my hands. Care must be taken not to stain my clothes.
Upon completion, soaked the shawl in hot solution of salt and vinegar to deal with the excess dye. The water was remarkably colorless, so I hope the shawl is colorfast now.

Beads:
size 8/0, from Beaded Iris, Albuquerque, NM.
~ 35 beads / g x 30 g / tube = 1100 beads / tube.
~ 1,100 beads / tube x 2 tubes = 2,200 beads

Color fixing process

Supplies:
clear plastic vessel
1/4 c salt
1 gal warm water
1 c white vinegar

In vessel, add a portion of water warm enough to dissolve salt.
Once dissolved, add the rest of the water and vinegar so the mixture is room temperature.
Recipe can be cut in half:
1/2 gal water, 1/2 c vinegar, 2 T salt.

Treat yarn before knitting, or completed project.
For skeined yarn, lay out and secure all along by wrapping a thread in a figure eight, loosely.

Mix soln well and submerge yarn.
Soak 1/2 hour.
Water should be colorless.
Rinse well.
Hand wash with mild soap or wool wash.
Don’t twist or wring.
Squeeze out excess water and roll in a bath towel.
Lay flat and allow to dry.

Note:
Upon initial vinegar / salt soln treatment, if water is not colorless, soak overnight.
Upon doing so, the rinse water should be colorless.
