13 July This is madness! I have nearly reached the end of my holiday, I have countless WIPS (most of them not on Ravelry yet) and have joined three mystery KALS in the past week.
However, this is perfect - I have been playing around with colour - started with stripes then moved onto Kaffe-type magic ball all of which meant that I went diving deep into the 30 year old stash, and had uncovered many gems.
So here goes….. The basketful above is a starting point, the dark green is MC so now I’ll go play.
Later 13 July.
Chart A completed. Much brighter in real life. Now bracing myself for the intarsia…….!
14 July
That was fun! Chart B completed. Haven’t done intarsia for a while but it’s like riding a bicycle - you don’t forget! Can’t believe I’ve got to wait until 25th for the next clue but at least that means some of those other WIPs might get some attention.

Charts C and D finished. It’s been a while as work and family needed attention but finally found time yesterday to sort out the colours for D and get it done. Like most others on the KAL, I am not too sure about the colours but I think they are getting better as I go along.

All done, and I am pleased with the finished item. With hindsight I would have spent more time planning the colour combinations but if you look at the basket of unpromising scraps at the beginning and compare with the completed shawl, it’s a miracle! A very clever pattern which stretched me a bit on the colour work but I really enjoyed creating my own gradients and am particularly pleased with that aspect of the project.
