1 Mar - Changed sleeve trim, kept stripe consistency instead of matching main body. Made the hood with larger sized needles (better drape).
26 Feb - Still working out the lace but I am freakin’ happy with this shrug. The changes I would make for the next one are really just a correction of the mistakes I made this time around. I would rework the hood and make it baggy, I had a bit of trouble with the body trim as I wanted to keep the armhole free. Also, due to my broad shoulders, the armhole ended up deeper which is cool but the 3/4 sleeve I decided on left very little room to decrease to snug up the upper sleeve. I have a lot more room than needed at the sleeve hem so I have to decrease into the crochet trim. All in all, I really like the way this turned out. :D
22 Feb - I have finished all of my other set projects so I am back to knitting this. I was/am excited about this shrug but, as often happens with me, I am slowly losing my will to complete due to all of the boring stocking stitch. Damn I dislike st st so. Why oh why did I add a hood? A st st hood? As people were teasing me at work I am bound and determined to finish this before the end of next week. No more stalling, no more getting sidetracked by other less stocking stitch heavy projects, no more whining about how draining st st is. I…shall…finish…this…shrug. No, really.
16 Feb - Lower half of sleeve and edging for body and hood shall be a crochet lace pattern I want to try out.
10 Feb Decided to add a hood and, instead of the rib trim, I am doing a crochet border.
Using Ms Japel’s basic structure from her Two-Toned Shrug and Simple Knit Bodice. Adding stripes, making deeper raglan sleeve, doing away with the deep rib trim (probably doing some variation of a dropstitch rib or something) and making full bell sleeves. I think. Maybe. Who knows, it is a work in progress and so who knows how it will end.
